Yet another Pfizer data security breach...

According to securitysearch.com pharmaceutical giant Pfizer has suffered its third major data security breach in as many months.

Pfizer Inc. disclosed a new data breach at the company that exposed as many as 34,000 employees to potential identity fraud.

...the breach involved the names and Social Security numbers of all people affected. The information also included home addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers, e-mail addresses, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, passport numbers, driver's license numbers, military identification numbers, birth dates, signatures and reasons for termination of employment.

As with the first two security breaches, Pfizer withheld the rather important news that employees identities had been exposed for months before coming clean. Apparently, Pfizer's motto is "better late than never"...even when it comes to the potential identity theft of their workers.
